A letter addressed to the people of the Holy Empire of Templaria and to Echo, the Charlatan Emperor.
To the Templars,
It has been said on many occasions that the Templars of Club Penguin serve as an army of Christ. Though much of TCP’s history is complicated and controversial, any Templar would know that the army seeks to follow in accordance the teachings of God. Spirituality and religion is largely a personal topic for many, myself included. Though there is no issue with discussing religion or identifying yourself as a follower of God, those who claim most loudly to be followers of Him are often individuals hiding their true intentions. When one constantly gestures towards their devotion to God, consider the purpose of this. If God is truly all-knowing, all-powerful and in all places as scripture states, then He knows of your devotion already. The only result of repeatedly proclaiming yourself to be a worker of the Lord is how others perceive you. Such behaviour should be identified as what it is – self-aggrandising. You do not need to look far in scripture to find passages regarding individuals associating their image with God for selfish purposes.
Why begin this post with a review of biblical concepts? Because you can identify a charlatan if they claim to lead a community on behalf of the Christian God while consistently contradicting Christian teachings. An individual such as Echo can claim no throne, only a simulation of authority.
Though I am not the Empress of the Templars any longer, my care for the community still remains. Leaving in September last year during the conflict with the Doritos (Secret Service) was not something I ever wanted to do, but I didn’t have a choice. Xing himself knows this. I did what I could to remain strong in the face of constant assault, not only in battles but also in defending Xing from reputation-smearing allegations, as well as personal attacks based on my gender identity. There are parts of my departure I wish I did differently and I apologise to all of those who were abruptly tasked with the burden of the keeping Templars alive in my absence. I cannot regret leaving, however, as I needed to for the sake of my mental health, well-being and my relationship with Shallissa. I couldn’t serve for as long as I should have, but I still immensely value this army that embraced me with open arms, as well as those within it with whom I cherish many memories.
Just as my class was beginning last week, a quick greeting in the Templars main chat was met with an unexpected ban. The justification for this? My past involvement in the notorious Recon Federation of Club Penguin, of which I was a member for two months.
The Recon Federation is very well known in the Club Penguin army community now for being the grooming grounds of Prior Bumble, an individual who fabricated an ultra-masculine and patriarchal persona in order to take advantage of many vulnerable individuals, including minors and those struggling with severe mental health problems.
He used his affection as a tool to pit girls against one another to prove loyalty, he normalised and consistently encouraged public discussion of inappropriate topics, outspoken members would be excommunicated and their friends would be required to cease all contact or risk the same fate. RFCP has been branded as a “cult” for justifiable reasons, but such a characterisation doesn’t convey the complex nature of what occurred whatsoever. Being a part of that group is one of my biggest mistakes.
Individuals like myself and Sha did what we could to minimize the influence of RFCP after we left. We helping their former members leave by accepting them into the People’s Imperial Confederation with open arms. We published extensive posts exposing the group for what it was, though some of them are now lost without the Internet Archive. In spite of her past actions, Xing was one of Shallissa’s biggest advocates and defenders, using his platform as Emperor and TCP’s website to empower her story of the abuse and manipulation within RFCP. Echo knew that already, he was already deep into TCP and armies by 2020. Even if I only joined them from mid November of 2019 to early January of 2020, every second reliving that time of my life is torture.
To Echo and the leaders that follow him, apparently I was a knowing participant in Prior’s manipulation. I was most certainly not perfect during my time in their high command, I’m sure one could point to things I’ve said or done of which I would be sorry for. But to characterise me as some kind of accomplice in this horrible environment is a fabrication without any substantiating evidence. Echo to referring to my guilt as a “matter of debate” is an outright lie, there can be no debate when there is no evidence. To him my mere association with RFCP is enough to condemn me. Reviving a topic from 2019/2020 with only surface-level with unsubstantiated allegations is shameful and only harms those who may have experienced genuine distress and trauma as a result of what happened.
THIS IS THE SAME ECHO who, along with his co-leaders, allied with the Secret Service and Doritos. This was soon after their continuous attempts to call Xing a pedophile, an accusation that was immediately dropped and forgotten about once it wasn’t being weaponised to sway public opinion and win a war against TCP. THIS IS THE SAME ECHO who brought shame to the Templars when he allowed the leaders and figureheads of SS/DCP to be given advisory positions. How can any individual call themselves a leader of the Templars after aligning with the same ones so quickly after they defaming its creator? THIS IS THE SAME ECHO that constantly gestures towards his devotion to God, while blatantly disregarding Christ’s teachings to be an advocate for the needy and forgiving thy neighbour. THIS IS THE SAME ECHO who criticised PIC for being a poor sister ally to TCP. Less than a month later proceeded to betray their newest “brother ally” Void Troops by backtalking them and permitting the preparation of a WAR DECLARATION behind their backs, using screenshots and information they already knew of before the alliance. The Templars were known in the past for preparing declarations of war against numerous armies as an insurance policy, but this is has not been standard practice for a long time. THIS IS THE SAME ECHO who complains about how Templars have never had a good ally, but leaders of other armies will NEVER trust a Templar administration that has continuously demonstrated a complete disregard for honesty and mutual respect. Who could blame them? THIS IS THE SAME ECHO who, in 2024, was supposed to supervise a private Discord server full of Templars. Entering the server without informing his co-leaders of the server’s existence, Echo’s negligence allowed the continuation of a group that permitted poor behaviour and the continuous usage of horrendous language such as RACIAL SLURS. I thought such reprehensible occurrences in the Templars were left behind post-COVID. Instead I learnt of this through other means, which gave participants time to delete incriminating channels. Echo was given the incredibly gracious opportunity to learn from this mistake – an opportunity to truly be Christ-like and reflect on himself by understanding the burdens, responsibilities and accountability required of a leader. Beyond event results and maxes, a person of such low moral character, with zero introspection and self-reflection, does not deserve to call himself Emperor. The only throne you have built for yourself is one based on moral bankruptcy.
I hereby call upon Echo to make a responsible decision by stepping down from his position as Emperor and autocrat of the Templars, as well as his role as Grand Prior.
To the people of the Templars, I will not ask you to rebel whatsoever. You are what makes the army great, and it is a community worthy of protection. Abandoning TCP would only assist those with malicious intentions to succeed. My only hope is that you do your best, offline and online, to endeavour in doing good in the world. In the case that I remain banned permanently, thank you for the memories.
